Bored on a Saturday Afternoon

Festicious is not a word

I’ve just made it up

The grammar police

Think I’m corrupt.

It rankles some people

But me, not so much

I’m quite impressed

I’ve the Midas touch.

Late middle English

Its origins fare

Wikipedia’s accepted it

‘Well’ I declare.

Putrescent and rancid

Are all pretty gross

Festicious sounds finest

More pleasant than most.

What does it mean?

I hear you say

To have something nasty

Rotting, slowly away.

A suburban masterpiece

I’ll patent it now

Before someone nicks it

And cause’s a row.
